    The Challenge

    Why Cement Plants Need Carbon Capture

    When cement plants burn alternative fuels — municipal waste, RDF, industrial waste — chlorine enters the kiln and builds up. Above 0.5%, it causes preheater blockages, kiln shutdowns, and production loss. The Chlorine Bypass System extracts this chlorine-rich gas, generating Bypass Dust rich in chlorides, heavy metals, and alkali compounds. This dust is currently a regulated waste — expensive to store and hazardous to dispose of.
